This attractive reprint in a handsome new format of W. J. Craig's long-established and popular edition of the complete works of Shakespeare contains in addition a number of features invaluable for the student and layman alike. There is an Index of Characters and Index of First Lines of Songs which appear in the plays; a Glossary of difficult words and archaic meanings; and interesting comparative lists of the plays in order of composition. The spelling has been modernized and punctuation revised.
In this edition the plays are printed in the order adopted by John Heming and Henry Condell, the editors of the First Folio, in 1623. Pericles, which was not included in the Third Folio (1664), appears here at the end of the dramatic works and is followed by Venus and Adonis, The Rape of Lucrece, The Sonnets, and the minor poems.
